The Legal Gimmicks of Nigeria's Transitional Justice Experiment

 This book entails a concise elaboration of the historical dynamics of the 1992 Zangon Kataf Crises through the documentation of different narratives by key stakeholders. It interrogates the emergence and spread of the crises, as well as different judicial interventions leading up to the truth commission. It also situates the commission's interventions within the context of its composition, mandate and proceedings,  which impacted its recommendations. This historical context thus enables an understanding of the fault lines of the commission's legal foundations, and how it undermined its potential to transform conflicts during Nigeria's transition from military autocracy to democracy.
